Lithan students recently took home the team prize during the Web Innovation Talent (WIT) Award 2019. According to WIT, the purpose of the contest is to support youth in Myanmar
who have the innovative talent, eagerness to accept and challenge new technologies, interest to learn web design in daily life and create a bright future for Myanmar. It was established to foster the diplomatic relations of Japan and Myanmar celebrating the continued cooperation of the two countries and young talent. The winners were picked based on originality (original), attractivity (visibility, incentive property), and ability (High technical ability). Lithan's students won the grand prize for their Smart City project (New Hope
Nay Pyi Taw).
The purpose of their website is to give a lead about future smart cities in Myanmar. Group members included:

"We didn't believe at first, because this is our first time competing in such an award," the team said. The students who won are currently going through Lithan's Work
Study Degree program to become a full stack web developer. They will still need to go through another 18 months of apprenticeship to obtain a Pearson accreditation pathway to over 100 universities in the UK and Australia. Compared to the traditional education setup that requires students to finish a minimum of four years to earn a degree and become a viable candidate in the job marketplace, Lithan’s innovative learning approach allows people to become job-ready and qualified in as little as six months.
According to the studens, through Lithan's program, they have been introduced to several other languages like Javacript and Python in the level which excited them a lot. They also collaborated with teachers which added to the experience. This was very important because they barely had any experience with the field to begin with. Fortunately, at Lithan, students who complete the program become future-ready and equipped better for the digital economy and its demands. In the future, the team hopes to complete more projects and do more competitions. The winning students have also decided to set up their office to start working on more opportunities.
