NICF Business Intelligence (BI) Applications

Developed by Victoria University, Australia, this course intends to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to design implement and maintain a data warehouse solution. A Data Warehouse has become an essential tool in a company's strategic decision-making process. A datawarehouse is not simply a copy of a transactional database system; it has its own architecture and stores data in a specific format that allows for in-depth analysis of data.

Course Duration

36 hours
 
Delivery Method

This course will be delivered 1 session (3hours – 2 hour lecture and 1 hour tutorial) a week over 12 weeks. Students will be given sufficient time for hands-on practice on the SAP System through self-paced learning/ practice sessions. Students are expected to spend at least ten hours per week studying for this course (including lecture and tutorial sessions). Practice sessions should be spent on reading, research and working on exercises. Workloads may be greater for periods when students need to complete assignments or to prepare for tests.

Graduation requirement

Candidates for graduation need to pass the following assessments:

  • Data warehouse Modelling
  • Research Paper
  • Class Test
  • Final Exam (practical)
The following awards will be issued to graduands who successfully pass the assessments.
  • IT-CIO-504S-1 Review reports and formulate action plan (awarded by WDA)
  • IT-DM-401S-1 Build Database (awarded by WDA)
  • SAP BI Alliance Certificate offered by Victoria University and SAP Australia
An exemption will be given to graduates for one module of the Masters of Business (ERP Systems) programme offered by Victoria University, Australia.

NICF BI Overview (Corporate)

Developed by Lithan Hall Academy, Singapore, this short program provides participants with an overview of Business intelligence (BI) technologies and applications. This course also deals with best practices for the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of business information. In this course, participants will be able to understand the purpose of business intelligence and how it supports better business decision-making. This course provides an overview of the technology of BI and the application of BI to an organization's strategies and goals.

This programme is available to Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (local trainees) only. The following programme fees apply (in Singapore Dollars).

WDA subsidy (70%) -$1,960

For Company-sponsored Students

To encourage more Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to send their workers for skills upgrading and to enhance productivity, the Government will be increasing the funding subsidy for this group. The Enhanced Training Support for SMEs will help SMEs further lower the cost of sending their employees for certifiable training programmes supported by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). SMEs will get to enjoy subsidies of 90% of the course fees when they sponsor their employees for the above-mentioned courses as well as claim absentee payroll funding of 80% of basic hourly salary at a higher cap of $7.50 per hour. This three-year initiative will take effect from 1 July 2012
